The Opera web browser is testing a built-in cryptocurrency wallet

Opera announces that a cryptocurrency wallet is in beta testing for its web browser…

Long at the experimental edge of web browsers, Opera is now testing a new function that’ll add a cryptocurrency wallet to its software.

Opera, which accounts for just shy of 3% market share in the desktop web browser sector, has initially introduced the wallet feature in a new private beta of its Android browser. In the first instance, the wallet will support Ethereum, but the plan is to roll out support for other currencies further down the line.

It’s not definite that the wallet feature will make it past the beta stage, but it’s likely it will. As for the thus-far announced features, here’s the image that Opera posted to its website…

You can find more information at the Opera website, although at the time of writing, the blog post it uploaded revealing its news is ‘temporarily unavailable’.

Here’s the link, for when – if? – it returns…
