An 80-year-old Bitcoin investor went on vacation to Australia without cash or cards, using only cryptocurrency to get around.
Robert from Singapore, describes himself as a verteran Bitcoin investor, and chose Brisbane for his first crypto-only holiday. He paid for everything from airport transfers, hotel, meals, entertainment and transport around the city with virtual currency.
His choice of destination was a shrewd one, as Brisbane has long been invested in new technological innovations, blockchain included.
Roel Hellemons, Brisbane Airport’s general manager of strategic planning and development, recently said: “Many people around the world have made money investing in cryptocurrencies, and a lot of these people travel internationally. So it makes sense to offer a digital currency experience within our terminals.
“This is just the beginning for us, as we hope to expand the digital currency option across the business.”
