The world’s first Master’s degree in cryptofinance has been launched at Fundacao Getulio Vargas (FGV) in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The program has been coordinated by Ricardo Rochman, reports Finance Magnates, who got the idea after he saw a need for specialised education in the relatively new sector.
The course will offer an objective, academic perspective on crypto, whereas previously research had been more speculative in nature.
He said: “It is a market with a profound lack of people with expertise. Cryptofinance has economic and financial fundamentals that are worth discussing, researching, and [being] taught.”
“There is a conceptual gain of knowing both the practical applications of the technology and cryptocurrency as an alternative investment,” added Michele Araujo, a student of economics at FGV.
