New findings have indicated that cryptocurrency ownership now extends to more than 16 million people in America. That’s 8% of the entire country.
The study by Finder.com also found that men (12 per cent) are three times as likely to hold crypto than women (4 per cent), and millennials (17 per cent) were the generation most likely to own it over Gen X and Baby Boomers.
Unsurprisingly, Bitcoin topped the list of currencies, with Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash and Ripple following up behind.
Back in 2016, although around half of the country had heard of Bitcoin, only 1 per cent was found to actually have used it.
