Ripple puts $50 million towards crypto education

Ripple has announced that it will donate $50 million to 17 universities as part of its University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI).

The initiative has been created to help support education in blockchain and cryptocurrency, and the company will also donate technical resources and expertise to students studying the sectors.

Among the 17 universities involved, Princeton will engage in research related to the policy impact of crypto and blockchain across the globe, and UPenn will offer students a dual-degree program that will allow them to work in the industry.

The University of Luxembourg has announced plans to build a blockchain research program with the help of the UBRI.

This is not the first time that Ripple has invested in the future of the blockchain sector, having donated $20 million in XRP to public schools through the DonorsChoose charity fund. And let’s not forget that actor Ashton Kutcher recently donated $4 million in XRP to Ellen Degeneres’ wildlife fund.
